The Great Cardboard Boat Race - 160009

Don’t laugh! Cardboard boats really can float! In fact, many boats raced three times at our previous events. Of those, we expect many will return and go for it once again. But here’s the catch: you may only use corrugated cardboard and duct tape. Use your imagination. Cardboard may be waxed. Hers a hint: if you layer the cardboard, it will be much stronger. No wood, Styrofoam, fiberglass, or plastic, except for your oars and paddles. All boats must be powered by humans 7 years and older. Five age divisions. All boats will be judged based on creativity, sea-worthiness- and quickest to sink! Come join in on the fun and win some prizes. Each boat will need two participants, one at each end of the pool. Life jackets for this event will be provided by Parks and Recreation and must be worn by contestants. Swimsuits required. Free. Registration required.
